“She went around with the attitude that she would rather be beaten to death than take any shit.”

After reading the books, I was disappointed by the movie, but there’s only so much plot you can include in a movie, it’d be impossible to include all the intricacies that make TGWTDG awesome. So while I didn’t LOVE it, I can give it a pass, it wasn’t a bad watch. (The whole Harriet/Anita switch had me going wtf though, at least stick to the plot.)
One thing - Mikael and Lisbeth were perfection. Totally spot on. That moment in the end killed me in the book, ahhhhh. Stop being such a manwhore Mikael. (Okay, don’t.)
Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara were amazing. Daniel more for being a hot bitch and Rooney more for being an awesome badass.

Having NOT read the books (though I definitly will), I loved this movie. I really did. And what I loved was just the feel of it. This year has had so many good gritty, rough, dark movies, and those really are the best. And Lisbeth is a genuinely intriguing and unique character. She’s tough, yeah, but she’s also adorable and sensitive (Happy Meals? Ahh, a girl after my own heart.), making her the ULTIMATE badass. And her relationship and dynamic with Mikael is probably one of the sexiest and most complicated I’ve seen in years. That’s what I love about a book. It (and of course, Stieg Larsson) can create these situations without being afraid to go there. And what I loved about this movie - that it went there.
Of course, I could feel plot points had been thrown together and were a little rushed (coming in at almost three hours, it surprisingly moved quick, and felt short - I still wanted more). But WTF, I liked it! My opinion might drastically change once I read the series (and watch the Swedish series), but for now, it was fucking good. Not at the very top of my list, but it’s on there for the year, just because it was so unique and catered to what I like in a movie. David Fincher never gets it wrong, though I hope for the next couple, he’s a little less hasty. And fucking hell, Daniel Craig + Rooney Mara? GIMME MORE. So fucking hot. And both just really, really good.
